In my practice, I tend to address the issues that the migrant community deal with in the Netherlands. As a migrant, I do this by simulating conditions that I have experienced and let the audience walk in my shoes to understand how I feel.
A barrage dish: an anagram of my full name
I designed a website called dispossetion in which the visitor faces some malfunctions and through them, I represent the malfunctioning system that migrants are dealing with.
The website has two parts:
part 1 is an algorithm that allows people to visit the website only based on their nationality. The twist here is that they don't choose their nationality, but the website assigns a random nationality to them.
part 2 contains a google map that despite its appropriate appearance, doesn't work properly and is intended to make the visitors frustrated. By searching a location in this map, they will be guided to a false location with a manipulated image of the Netherlands that has elements of my hometown in it.

Import-ant: best genes from abroad
I often use satire, metaphors, and manipulation in order to show the flaws of the system using its own features.
I look at the medium of photography as an expandable tool to convey my ideas and concepts. I always like to play with the borders of it and see how I can go beyond them by mixing the medium of photography with other ones such as installation.
